By wrapping the read/write calls of overview system components, o files can be segmented like Spool objects. Overview file segmentation takes place at the lowest level, and is transparent to the rest of the system. Now, instead of storing the overview data with the articles, files are set aside for per-group storage, and chunked so as to provide highly continuous and adaptive storage.

Actual verbatim overview headers are stored in separate files for optimum delivery speed.
